Care and maintenance of Kwila Outdoor Furniture

Before sending it to you we have coated the furniture with Clear Deck Oil.

Another coat should be applied in the first month, depending on the level of exposure to the weather. Furniture which is fully exposed to the elements may need 4-5 coats of oil finish per year, but if partly exposed (under shade cloth), it may need only 3 coats. If under a fully covered area, it may only need 1-2 coats per year. Please note that the above application periods are meant as a guide only - the frequency of applications will depend on the climate prevalent in your area and the appearance of the timber. If your furniture is not oiled, prolonged exposure to the elements will transform the timber to a silvery-grey colour, and surface checking (hairline cracks) may develop. This occurs with most timbers. To restore the original colours, light sanding of the surface would be required followed by regular applications of an oil finish.

In order to maintain your furniture in peak condition and ensure many years of enjoyment, we advise you to follow the care and maintenance instructions recommended. Failure to comply with the maintenance instructions will render this guarantee null and void
